I was nervous to update given the awful updates of so many other news apps. But this one got it right. The new form factor is even better than the original which was good itself. Two areas for improvement: The font is a bit too small to read comfortably in the list view of article headlines. There are big blank gaps in the text of the articles, though Im sure these are placeholders for ads.

The daily/weekly/monthly horoscopes are not loading on the new app... Please fix.

One day I was using this and everything was fine then its starts to crash on me all the time. Why is this app so garbage??? Why havent you solved the problem yet? Fix the problem

I actually really like this app, but I am disappointed with the amount of spelling and grammar errors. It undermines the integrity of the articles. Oh...lets not get started on the crashes...anyone out there????

Too annoying as it takes 10 mins to read a 1 min article

It takes forever to read 1 article because it crashes every few seconds. Not sure why no one has bothered to fix the problem.

Have constant issues with crashing. I used to read this daily as I enjoyed the variety of stories. Will check back in a month or so to see if its fixed.

Update needs to be UPDATED!!!! crashes too much. Deleting the app if they dont fix it soon.

I love the Daily News. it crashes everytime I open it. I hope they fix this problem asap. or why bother just remove the app from itunes. no need.

It has now been more than four months since the issue with crashes and began and even though the app has been through updates, the issue persists. Rather than wait any longer, I simply bookmarked the daily news site in Safari and set it up on my home screen, thus removing the app entirely from my phone. Its a shame that a well respected paper(at least more respected than the Post) cant get their act together. Also side note, the bookmarked link may not have all the amenities of the daily edition, but at least its free. Hope the idea for bookmarking helps others.

Epic failure. Cant believe they dont fix it.

So sad that on June 4th, 2016 no one has tried to fix this app yet. This has been an on going issue. My original review is below: This was my most used app. Everyday Id check to see what was in the headlines. Now all I receive is frustration. Ive deleted and downloaded the app, reset my phone, open, close....nothing works. I still dont understand why nothing has been done to fix the issue. Sad. Wish I were able to give Zero stars.

How embarrassing for a major newspaper

Used to be my favorite app but now that it drops within 30 seconds of opening its being deleted from my phone. Dont bother with it.

I guess Ill be getting the news else where. I can not understand why it constantly crashes. Seem like there are several others with the issues. I can turn this into a rant, but who cares ? You do not because the problem has yet to be resolved.

All this app does is crash. Complete garbage.

Its such a shame because I really enjoy reading their articles, but this is beyond tolerable.
